Generative Artificial Intelligence can be used effectively and legitimately across all types of teaching, research and administration. The ethical use of such tools can provide significant benefits but there are clear risks and security concerns. These pages and the University guidance for staff on the Secretariat website are intended to support staff in the use of Gen AI as educators and researchers.

University guidance for staff

This guidance applies to AI in its widest sense, which includes Gen AI as a subgroup.

This guidance is for anyone employed at the University who uses or plans to use AI in teaching, research or administrative tasks. This also applies to external lecturers, assessors and postgraduate researchers who have a temporary or part-time staff role. Hosted on the Secretariat website.
